Audrey Alice Collins

Mrs. Audrey Alice Collins, age 82 of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully at her sister's home in Stuart, Va on Friday, August 9, 2024. She was born in Covington, Virginia on November 4, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Collins; and her mother, Lillian Louise Byers Brooks. Audrey retired from Piedmont Airlines/ U. S. Airlines with 40 years of service. It was at work she met and married her beloved husband. Anyone who knew Audrey knew two absolute truths; 1.) purple was her favorite color and 2.) how much she adored her sister, nephew, and especially her great-nephew; she loved going to his baseball games. He truly was the apple of her eye.

Left to cherish the memories of Audrey Collins are her sister, Tracy Brooks Williams and husband, Danny of Stuart, Virginia; her nephew, Adam Hamby of King, North Carolina; her great-nephew, Troy Hamby of King, North Carolina; many cousins, amazing neighbors, and a few very special extended “family” members.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Church of Christ (Family life center), 7120 NC-66 S, King, NC 27021, with Pastor Chuck Bower officiating. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends for a time of fellowship.
