Barbara Helen Puckett Bowman

Mrs. Barbara Helen Puckett Bowman, 78, of Claudville, VA, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Bowman was born February 12, 1932, in Patrick County, VA, to Lundie and Argie Vivian Bowman Puckett. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are two daughters, Jewel Haynes of Ararat, VA, and Betty Fay McGrday of Claudville, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Mary Bowman of Dobson; five grandchildren, Josh McGrady, Austin McGrady, Jamie Bowman, Misty Lane, and Jessica Pack; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Radisic of Mount Airy; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Puckett of Ararat, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Junior Bowman; a son, Danny Ray Bowman; a sister, Lucille Gray; and four brothers, Aubra Puckett, Ronnie Lee Puckett, Gilmer Puckett, and Olen Puckett. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Darren Slate officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
