Barbara Freeman Chattin

Ms. Barbara Freeman Chattin, 71, of Dobson, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born September 16, 1939, in Stokes County, to the late Dewitt and Frances Abbott Freeman. Barbara was retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. She is survived by a daughter, Sandi Thomas of Elkin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donnie Chattin of Pilot Mountain and Scottie and Monette Chattin of Elkin; five grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, Shenera, Briana, and Samantha Chattin; a great-grandchild, Kierra Shaw; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Millie Mayes of Elkin and Debbie and David Meredith of Dobson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas "Peanut" and Barbara Freeman and Clark and Sharon Freeman, all of Dobson; and a special friend, John Wayne McHone of Mount Airy. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 24, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. There will be no formal services at the funeral home. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
