Barbara Jean Fain

Mrs. Barbara Jean Mears Fain, 81, of Pinnacle, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 24, 2021 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born in Surry County on May 8, 1939 to the late Claude Alvin Mears and Tessie Cardine Simmons Mears.  Mrs. Fain retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after over 40 years of dedicated service and was a member of Poplar Springs Church of Christ in King, NC.  Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Gray Fain, Sr., and wife Debbie; her grandson, Michael Gray Fain, Jr.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Roger Mears and wife Bonnie, and Ronnie Lee Mears and wife Glenda; and by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fain was preceded in death by the love of her life with over 58 years of marriage, Billy Gray Fain.  Funeral services will be held in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Lee Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in floral tribute or donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Fain family.
