Barbara Lynn Leftwich Freeman

Mrs. Barbara Lynn Leftwich Freeman, 55, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Freeman was born January 27, 1955, in Surry County, to the late Leroy and Dorothy Dean Smith Leftwich. She retired from Crossroads and was employed as the church secretary at Fellowship Baptist Church in Ararat until her illness. Mrs. Freeman was a devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Philip Anthony Freeman, Sr. of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Matthew Shinault of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip Anthony Freeman, Jr. and Beth of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Luke Anthony Freeman and Rebekah Lynn Freeman, both of Mount Airy; a sister, Anita Vogler of Mount Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Betty Leftwich, Larry and Peggy Leftwich, and Jeff Leftwich and fiancée, Misty Watson, all of Mount Airy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Georgia Freeman of Mount Airy; several aunts and uncles, including a special aunt, Betty Jean Goins of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Reagan Elizabeth Freeman. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 21, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Ararat, with the Rev. Wesley Boyles, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
