Mrs. Barbara Baldwin Simpson Holyfield, age 74, of Mount Airy passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017. She was born September 24, 1942 in Wilkes County to the late John Franklin Baldwin and Alice Mae Mounce Baldwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Troy J. Simpson in 1991 and Daniel L. Holyfield in 2004. Mrs. Holyfield was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and until recently was employed by Surrey Bank and Trust. She is survived by her son, Marcus Troy Simpson; her daughter, Dawn Simpson Bradley (David); grandchildren, Cameron Bradley Alexander (Dan), Brooke Bradley and Kate Bradley; a sister, Carolyn Baldwin McCann; her brother, John Christopher Baldwin (Sun Yong); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 2-3 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will follow at 3:00 PM in the Moody- Davis Chapel with Reverend Jeff Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will also receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Mrs. Holyfield’s residence. Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 174 Liberty Church Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
