Barbara Ann Matthews

In loving memory of Ms. Barbara Ann Matthews age 69 of 801 Woodview Ridge Trail, Lewisville, NC passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. "Nana" was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was born May 26, 1938 in Surry County, NC to the late Leonard and Ada Seals Matthews. She was retired from AT&T, was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Canzonza and Nancy Frye both of Lewisville, a grandson and fiancee, Joshua Canzona, Boston, MA and Molly Rose Makover, Winston-Salem, NC, a sister, Wanda Hall, Pilot Mountain, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Mary Ruth Matthews , Mt. Airy and Bill and Alicia Matthews, San Francisco, CA. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Mr. Joshua Canzona and Rev. Ann Tuttle. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM Saturday until the hour of the service at Moody Funeral Home and afterwards at the home of Charlie and Amanda Pennix, 1355 Sparger Road, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Flowers will be accepted, memorials may be made to the Dr. Cathy Canzona and Dr. Lenora Campbell Nursing Discretionary Fund, 601 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27110. The family would like to express a special thanks to staff of Winston-Salem Rehabilitation Center and her personal caregivers.
