Barbara Marshall Scott

Mrs. Barbara Marshall Scott, 82, of 317 Sunset Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living. Mrs. Scott was born December 19, 1928, to the late Leroy and Lucy Livengood Marshall. Barbara was the fashion director for Sarah Coventry and Contempo Fashions and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Dean and Dorothy Scott of Mount Airy; three grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Paul Balthis of Pilot Mountain, Jamie and Casey McCreary of King, and Scotty and Amy Scott of Charlotte; three great-grandchildren, Emilee Balthis of Pilot Mountain, and Cooper Scott and Lily Scott, both of Charlotte; and four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lucy and Paul Venable of Newport News, VA, Nancy Garner of Eden, Brenda Haynes of Mount Airy, and Dianne and Larry Heath of Gibsonville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, C.L. Scott; and four brothers, Robert Marshall, Ronald Marshall, Jerry Marshall, and Buddy Marshall. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
