Barbara "Tootie" Anne Morton

Barbara “Tootie” Morton (86) of Mount Airy passed away peacefully at Trinity Glen in Winston-Salem on July 15, 2022.  She was born on April 6, 1936, to William and Mary Morton in Martinsville, Virginia.

She was a charter member of Woodland Baptist Church and was a faithful member there for her entire life.  Tootie was a beloved aunt and a constant source of joy and laughter to her many nieces and nephews.  She is survived by sisters Ruth Donithan of Mount Airy and Bernell Shelton of Shallotte, NC and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  In addition to her parents Tootie was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Morton and Jack Morton, Sr.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.   Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
