Barbara Ann Edwards Weddle

Mrs. Barbara Ann Edwards Weddle, 71, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday morning, July 4, 2017, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Mrs. Weddle was born March 4, 1946, in Surry County, to the late Raleigh Lester and Eunice York Edwards. Barbara retired from Spencer’s Inc. and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Donald Weddle of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannan and Mark Edwards of Mount Airy and Lisa and Victor Jenkins of Dobson; a son, Randy Stewart of Albemarle; six grandchildren, Blake Inman, Wyatt Edwards, Ava Edwards, and Jeffrey Stewart, Jr., all of Mount Airy, Cody Stewart of Albemarle, and Brian Jenkins of Dobson; a sister and brother-in-law, Joy and the Rev. Jeff Wall of Mount Airy; and two nieces and a nephew, Jessica Wall, Katie Wall, and Tyler Wall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weddle was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Stewart; and two brothers, Decosta Edwards and Raleigh Green Edwards. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 7, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
