Mrs. Benny Holshouser, 78, of 175 Oak Avenue, Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, August 8, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Holshouser was born August 13, 1929, in Surry County, to John Alexander Worth, Sr. and Alverta Campbell Worth. She graduated from Flat Rock High School in Surry County and was retired from Quality Mills. She was a lifetime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holshouser was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Atlas Holshouser; her brother, John Alexander Worth, Jr. of Newport, News, VA; and her sister, Daisy Worth King of Winston Salem. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Susan Holshouser of Pilot Mountain; a daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Todd Neely of Concord; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn Holshouser, Christopher Holshouser, Hannah Neely, and Lauren Neely; a sister-in-law, Anne Benton Worth of Newport News, VA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 11, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, followed by a lunch reception at First United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jim Yow and the Rev. William Randolph, and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 2148 Westfield Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
