Benton Paul White

Mr. Benton Paul White, 66, of Elkin, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at The Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg. He was born in Surry County on September 4, 1942, to the late Paul F. White and to Grace Callahan White. He was a member of Rocky Ford Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are the mother of his children, Velma Key White of Ararat, NC; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Wade Thomas of Concord, NC, Gina and Mark Roberts of Indian Trail, NC, Tonia and Barry Ayers of Cana, VA, Sonia and Stephen Edwards of Pinnacle, NC; his mother, Grace Callahan White of Elkin; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Linville Money of Ronda, NC, Josephine and Terry Hardy of Dobson, NC, Becky and Ronald Carter of Elkin, NC; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Herchell and Marie White of Michigan, C.L. and Helen White of Elkin, NC, Arnold White of Elkin, NC; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to Mr. White's father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Sue White. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday July 16, 2009, in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, the service will be conducted by Rev. Claude Lloyd and Brother Lee Smith. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Thursday from 12:30 PM until time of the service.
