Bernard Eugene Dail

Mr. Bernard Eugene Dail, Sr., 85, of 215 Meadow Stone Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born March 31, 1925, in Wilson County, to the late Bernard Wimberly Dail and Allie High Dail. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. Mr. Dail retired as Director of Tax Research for the state of North Carolina and was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Birgit Ling Dail of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Britt Marie and James H. Macialek of Ararat, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard Eugene Dail, Jr. and Jean Dail of Knoxville, TN; a grandson and his wife, Erik and Robbie Dail of Nashville, TN; and a stepgranddaughter and her husband, Terry Jean and William York of Knoxville, TN. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 10, 2010, at 3:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Sharon Snow officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
