Bernell Byrd Parker

Mrs. Bernell Byrd Parker Age 81 of 2798 Friedland Ch. Rd. Winston Salem, NC., widow of the late Claude Oliver Parker passed away Tuesday October 7, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Parker was born March 24, 1927 in Surry County to the late Rev. James L. and Lula Norman Byrd, she was the owner and operator of The Carpet Barn, was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and was a former member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law Wayne Oliver and Sue Parker of Winston Salem, two grandchildren Todd Parker of Winston Salem and David and Jennifer Parker of Wilmington, one great grandson Coleman Parker of Wilmington and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by a sister Mary Helen Lawson and by two brothers Jack Byrd and Gilbert Byrd. Funeral services will be held Friday October 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Shawn Dobbs and Rev. Robert McCrary with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday night 7 to 9 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
