Bertha Crotts Morris

Mrs. Bertha Crotts Morris, 93, of Mount Airy, formerly of Cana, VA, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Morris was born April 9, 1917, in Carroll County, VA, to the late John and Nancy Rose Crotts. She was a hoomemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Robert Glen Morris; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Nadine Easter of Mount Airy, Janet and Philmore McMillian and Janie Morris, all of Cana, VA, and Faye and Neil Cothren of Traphill; a son, Fred Morris of Cedar Springs, MI; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by a son, Roy Morris; a grandchild; a sister, Catherine Hawks; and three brothers, Jessie Crotts, Glen Crotts, and Tom Helmstutler; and three infant brothers. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Chaplain Kevin Wilson and Chaplain Sharon Snow officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
