Bertha Jean Vaughn

Mrs. Bertha Jean Dean Vaughn 86 of Cana, Virginia, passed away, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Village Care in King, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Vaughn was born in Carroll County, Virginia, on May 2, 1934 to the late Henry Harrison and Rosie Willard Dean.  Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She had a passion for flowers as well as gardening and canning.  Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Vaughn Fulk and husband Junior, Esther Vaughn Robertson and husband Gary, Peanut Vaughn Johnson and husband Tommy; sons and daughter-in-law, Dannie Vaughn and wife Shirley, and Dale Vaughn; grandchildren and spouses, Billie Jo Reynolds, Saprina Vaughn, Justin Vaughn, Casey Robertson, Jeremiah Robertson, Denise Petty and husband Mike, Angela Kingsbury and husband Thomas, and Johnny Ray Willard; ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one special nephew, W.L. Collins.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Hasvil Vaughn, sons, Dennis Vaughn, and David Vaughn, six sisters, Anner Dean Cyphert, Bessie Dean Ayers, Carolyn Dean Robertson, Opal Dean Marion, Josie Dean Collins, Elsie Dean Hardy; five brothers, Woodrow Dean, Lonnie Dean, Charlie Dean, Harrison Dean, and Junior Dean.  A graveside service will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Flat Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Bledsoe officiating.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
