Bessie Anthony

Mrs. Bessie Ann Hawks Anthony, 67, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.  She was born in Forsyth County on May 24, 1953 to the late Lester and Hazel Marie Simons Hawks.  Mrs. Anthony retired from Renfro, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.  She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Anthony; a daughter, Nancy Marie Mayes; grandchildren, Santana Mayes, Jennifer Mayes, and Brian Mayes; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Anita Hawks; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by sisters, and brothers.  A funeral service will be held Monday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Butch Holder officiating.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
