Mrs. Bessie Jane Pell Hall, 93, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born in Surry County on April 14, 1929, to the late Walter Ray and Betty Jane McBride Pell.  Mrs. Hall was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.  She was a founding member of Friendly Tabernacle.  She is survived by her children, Linda Marshall (Tim), Gilmer “Junior” Hall (Karen), Lisa Haynes (Rick); grandchildren, Matthew Marshall (Nicole), Ashley Priest (Matt), Lauren Cooper (Matt), Channing Hall (Davee), Sara Cromer (Ethan), Samuel Marshall, Nolan Haynes, Leeman Haynes; great grandchildren, Charlotte Hall, Chanley Hall, Ruth Cromer, Dottie Cromer, Regan Marshall, Dansby Cooper, “Baby Cromer” on the way in March; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hurley Pell (Peggy), Dempsey Pell (Susan), Alene Pell; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer Louis Hall, sisters, Dessie Kirkman, Mary Utt; brothers, Burr Pell, Bobby Pell, Clyde Pell.  A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ethan Cromer, and Dr. Darrell Tate officiating.  Burial will follow in McBride Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
