Bessie Louise Martin

            Mrs. Bessie Louise Martin, age 91 of Patrick Springs, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.  She was born in Patrick County on February 2, 1928 to the late Kelsie and Ida Rodgers Cassady.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Edward Martin; a son, Charlie Edward Martin; and several brothers and sisters.  Louise retired from Bassett-Walker with 40 years of service and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

            Surviving are two grandchildren, Cheri Martin Wood and husband, Larry of Stuart, Kelsey Martin and wife, Pepper of Patrick Springs; two great grandchildren, Joshua Martin and wife, Gwen, Halo Martin; three great-great grandchildren, Mahala Carrie Martin, Brody Edward Martin, Brayton Arrington; one sister, Ann Corns of Martinsville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Avery Branch officiating.  Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
