Bessie Mae King Mullis

Mrs. Bessie Mae King Mullis, 95, of 66 Sherman Drive, Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, December 8, 2009, at Blue Ridge Nursing center in Stuart, VA. She was born August 29, 1914, in Pickens County, SC, to the late Irvin and Eva Palmer King. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and attended Paul's Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Joyce Puckett of Cana, VA; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mullis was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoyle Mullis; and a son, Thomas L. Boggs, Jr. A memorial service will be held in Central, SC, at a later date.
