Bessie Emma Wall

Miss Bessie Emma Wall, 96, of 488 Romey Brown Road, Siloam, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Miss Wall was born February 9, 1912, in Surry County, daughter of the late John Virgil and Cora Bruner Wall. She was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Quaker faith. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Wall was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Elizabeth Wall, Lillie Ethel Key, and Nonnie Alma Johnson; and four brothers, John Wesley Wall, Sam S. Wall, Charlie Washington Wall, and Lester Newsome Wall. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2008, at 3:00 PM at Pine Hill Friends Meeting. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Michael K. Thames, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Wall family.
