Betty Jean Combs

Mrs. Betty Jean Francis Jones Stoneman Lawson Combs, age 88, of Fancy Gap VA, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Surry Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Carroll County on February 3, 1931 to the late William Everett and Carenia Frances Easter Jones.  She lived most of her life in Fancy Gap where she raised her four children.  Mrs. Combs was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  Left to cherish her memories are daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and James Orange, Lura and Junior Ayers; sons, Larry and Faye Stoneman and Roger Stoneman; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Brannock, Nannie Hiatt.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by husbands, James Stoneman, Bill Lawson and Coy Combs.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Bro. Dale Bass and Bro. Jamie Orange.  Burial will follow in Skyview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
