Betty Lucille Cox

Ms. Betty Lucille Coe Cox, age 74, of Thurmond, NC passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.  She was born in Surry County on February 13, 1945, to the late Walter Samuel Coe and the late Nora Hayes Coe.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lacey Longworth; sisters, Velvet “Topsie” Wilkes, Ruby Jones, Mittie VanNorman; brothers, Grady Coe and John Coe.  Surviving is her three sons and daughters-in-law. James and Jean Longworth, Terry and Lana Longworth, Jerry and Deena Longworth; grandchildren, Joshua and Kendra Longworth, Jacob and Jennifer Longworth, Samuel Longworth, Aaron Longworth, Allison, and Brandon Coates, Nicole and Wesley Wendorf, Katelyn Longworth, Jonathan “JJ” Longworth; great-grandchildren, Lily, Maggie, Josie Longworth, Mary Lynn, Anna, Ezra, Silas Coates, Marcie, Kylie, Beverly Wendorf; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Dalton Walker, Brenda Hutchins.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Mining Ridge Baptist Church, a private burial was held at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday at Mining Ridge Baptist Church from 12:30 until the time of her memorial service at 2:00 PM.  Brother Terry Longworth and Brother Samuel Longworth will officiate the services.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Cox family.
