Betty Dockery

Mrs. Betty Jean Stewart Dockery, age 85, of Elkin, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.  She was born in Surry County, on March 25, 1936, to the late Glenn Livingston Stewart and the late Alene Sapp Stewart. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Cross Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Harold Dean Dockery; son, Barry Thomas Dockery; brother, Bobby Stewart. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and James Longworth; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tammy Dockery; daughter-in-law, Sandra Dockery; grandchildren, Joshua and Kendra Longworth, Jacob and Jennifer Longworth, Sydney Dockery, Riley Dockery; great-grandchildren, Lily and Maggie Longworth, Josie Longworth, and one on the way, Jameson Longworth; sister, Barbara Parker; her furry friend Miss Annie.   A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Dockery Family Cemetery.  Rev. Allen Horton will officiate the service. There will be no formal services held at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be made to the Children Center of Surry PO Box 692 Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Dockery Family.  Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
