Betty Lou Riggans Freeman

Mrs. Betty Lou Riggans Freeman, 89, of Dobson, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was born October 21, 1934, to the late Bobbie and Betty “Ellen” Hodges Riggans. Mrs. Freeman was a retired farmer, but never stopped using her gifts to plant and garden. Along with gardening she loved to spend her time crocheting. Left to cherish her memory, is her daughter and son-in-law, Pat Freeman Hunsucker and Joe; grandchildren, Greg Hunsucker and Kristy, Alaina Cruise and Jon; great-grandchildren, Adrian Hunsucker, Madison Hunsucker, Colby Cruise, Caleb Cruise, Cameron Cruise, and Cashton Cruise; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Carter, Cathy Snow and Gary; as well as many nieces and nephews who called her “BooBoo.” Along with her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, J.C. Freeman; brother, J.D. Riggans; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Carter. A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Avery Branch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
