Ms. Betty Ruth Kiser Humphries, 78, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 27, 1944, in Forsyth County, to the late Cicero Buck Kiser and Carrie Ellen Hamm Kiser. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and sewing. Anything you needed mended or created, she loved doing it! Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sara Jane Bennett; and her brother, Samuel Buck Kiser. She is survived by her children, Samuel Cromer, Carrie (James) Johnson, Michael (Ashley) Cromer, Elizabeth (Jayson) Gammons, and Charles Luther (Louann) Humphries Jr; her grandchildren, Leigh (Brad) Gilliam, Amy Wrede, Nathan (Brittany) Holt, James (Heather) Johnson Jr., William Smith II, Samantha Smith, Logan Humphries, and David and Jacob Cromer “Twins”; her great-grandchildren, Nolan Gilliam, Jayden Wrede, Jolen Wrede, Elijah Wrede, Eli Johnson, and Addisyn Johnson. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by funeral service starting at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with Pastor Marty Reece officiating. The family will also receive friends at other times at the home of Carrie (Karen and Jimmy) Johnson at 1020 Gordy Road, Pilot Mountain.
