Mrs. Betty Jo Manring Hunt, 72, of Pinnacle, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at her home. She was born May 20, 1938, in Stokes County, to the late Claude Washington and Mollie Rominger Manring. She was a homemaker and had worked at Amos Smith. She and her husband, Conard, worked together on the farm and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband of 52 years, Conard Hunt of the home; a sister, Carolyn K. Lawson of Pinnacle; several nieces and nephews; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Shore; and three brothers, Curtis Manring, Tony Manring, and Claude Junior Manring. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church, with Brother Don Collins, the Rev. Brent Sawyers, and the Rev. Tommy Noah officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church. Her body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior the funeral service at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is serving the family.
