Betty Lou Jarrell

Mrs. Betty Lou Jarrell, 82, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.  She was born on June 9, 1936 to the late Edgar W. and Leona Hawks Gwyn.  She was a loving mother, and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and John Howell; grandchildren Alexandria and Jon Hamm, Kaylen Hawks; great-grandchildren, Sadie and Waylon Hamm; special aunt and uncle, Helen and John Hawks; special cousins, Jackie Bobbitt, Loretta Mabe and Juanita Beane; best friend, Linda Brinkley. In addition to her parents Mrs. Jarrell was preceded in death by an infant grandchild, Sammie Semones.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 2:30 PM at the First Church of the Brethren with services conducted by Bro. Mark Carico.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until the time for the service at the church.
