Betty Faye McGrady

Ms. Betty Faye Bowman McGrady, 58, of Ararat, VA, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021. She was born in Surry County on March 21, 1963, to the late Jesse Junior Bowman and Barbara Helen Puckett Bowman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Josh McGrady and fiancé Tara Jones, and Austin McGrady; four grandchildren who she loved and adored, Jennifer R. McGrady, Madalyn E. “Mattie” McGrady, Oceah L. “Boogie” Smith, and Annabella G. “Gracie” Guynn, a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Mary Bowman; many nieces and nephews, and by special friends, Joyce Bunn, Tammy Guynn, Brenda Floyd, and Sparkle Dean. In addition to her parents, Ms. McGrady was preceded in death by her sister, Jewel Kay Bowman Haynes; and a brother, Danny Ray Bowman. There are no services scheduled at this time, but a celebration of Betty’s life will be held later. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the McGrady family.
