Betty Ann McMillian

Mrs. Betty Ann Barker McMillian, 66, of Cana, VA, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019, at her home.  Mrs. McMillian was born November 28, 1953, in Wilkes County, one of five children born to the late James Dwight and Rosa Cox Barker.  Betty worked at Henredon Furniture for many years, and she later worked as a substitute teacher at St. Paul School.  She volunteered countless hours as a leader with Girl Scouts and was a member of Paul’s Creek Baptist Church.  She is survived by her husband, Roy Roland McMillian of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Dallas Marion and Tori and Darrell Beamer, all of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, Kacey and Tyler McKinney, Drew Beamer, Jake Beamer, and Elliot Marion; her great-grandchild, Slade McKinney; a sister, Sue Myers of Elkin; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Leon Barker of Lincolnton, Dannie and Mae Barker of Hamptonville, and Irvin and Sherry Barker of South Carolina.  The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Paul’s Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Justin McCreary officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
