Betty Lou Palmer

Mrs. Betty Lou Joyce Palmer, 85, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, May 01, 2018 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Stokes County on April 22, 1933 to the late Neal and Cardellia McDaniel Joyce.  Mrs. Palmer was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  She was a member of Grace Moravian Church.  She is survived by her husband, J.T. Palmer of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Smoot of Burlington; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Smoot of Greensboro; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Merritt; a brother, Mack Joyce.  Funeral services will be held Thursday May 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Grace Moravian Church with the Rev. Neil Routh officiating.  Burial will follow in God’s Acre Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship building.  In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 N Main St., Mt.
