Betty Ruth Pardue

Mrs. Betty Ruth Pardue, 86, of Mt. Airy passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born in Yadkin County, March 11, 1935, to the late James Albert and Sarah Frances Nixon Gilley. Mrs. Pardue loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She was known for baking and sharing her delicious black walnut pound cakes. Mrs. Pardue always cracked the walnuts herself to ensure the freshness and added that special ingredient, “love” that made them so good. She loved children and delighted in the time she spent with her much adored grandchildren. As long as her health permitted, Mrs. Pardue grew many beautiful roses and a variety of other flowers. She was a faithful member of the Bannertown Baptist Church for over 50 years. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and a son-in-law, Glenda Pardue, and Teressa and John Gammons, Jr.; her son, Donald “Donnie” Pardue; grandchildren and spouses, Alec Gammons, Evan Gammons, James and Reagan Gammons, Jenna Gammons, Ashley and Eric Sawyers, Jennifer and Whitney Pardue; great grandchildren, Hayley, Chase, Harper, and C.J. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pardue was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pardue; a grandson, Corie Darrell Inscore; and fourteen siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Bannertown Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Cogdill officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Mountain Park Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bannertown Baptist Church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Bannertown Baptist Church, 1834 Westfield Road, Mt.
