Betty Lou Payne

Mrs. Betty Lou Lewis Payne, age 78, of Boonville, NC passed away on Friday evening at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home.  She was born in Surry County on October 20, 1941, to the late John Samuel Lewis and the late Lela Coe Lewis.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Columbus Payne.  She was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and attended Northwood Baptist Church.  Surviving is her daughters, Karen Hamby, Gwen Thompson, and Stephen Harvey; sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Martin Payne, Samuel and Janet Payne; nine grandchildren, Keisha and Blake Eads, Philip and Carol Adams, Tim Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, and Candace Porter, Charlie Nicholson, Kaitlyn Thompson, Rachel Adams, Taylor Payne, Hezekiah Shaver; seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Thompson, Ryder Eads, Emily Adams, Lela Eads, Parker Thompson, Carlee Nicholson, Iris Adams; half-sister Lola Cave; half-brother Delmar Lewis.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 27, 2020, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, burial will follow in Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Dr. Allen Barker will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends Sunday, at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
