Betty Jean Pyles

Mrs. Betty Jean Sparger Pyles, 85, of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born in Surry County on May 28, 1932 to the late Irby and Winnie Grace Reynolds Sparger Wilson.  Mrs. Pyles was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband; Clarence Pyles of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Jack Tilley, Cathy Wiles, Mycleta and Rick Gwyn, David and April Hawks, Ann and Jerry Martin; grandchildren, Nathan, Krystal and Cameron Gwyn, Tyler, Dakota and Jordan Hawks, Austin Frye and Ricky Lineberry; five great-grandchildren and one on the way.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Pyles was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Debbie Sue Gwyn; a sister, Era Bowman and a brother Benton Sparger.  A graveside service will be held at New Venture Baptist Church Cemetery at 3pm Sunday, May 27, 2018 with services conducted by Rev. Luke Pyles.  The family will receive friends from 2pm until time for the service in the New Venture Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
