Betty Imogene Radford

Mrs. Betty Imogene Simmons Radford, age 86, of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.  Mrs. Radford was born in Surry County on March 23, 1932, to James Dewey and Hulda Susan Nichols Simmons.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  Among the many who will always cherish her sweet memory is her devoted husband of 68 years, Arnold Radford; her children, Regina Radford, Jan Lyons and husband David, Jim Radford and wife Joanna, and Eddie Radford and wife Libby; grandchildren, Tabatha Mauldin and husband Eric, Ted Radford, Drew Simpson and wife Angela, Dylan Moats and wife Amber, Ethan Moats, Grace Radford, Amelia Radford; a step grandson, Joshua Lyons and wife Jessica; seven great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; sisters, Hilda Harbour, Frances Peacock, Barbara Cruise; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Betty Simmons, Dean and Carole Simmons, and Virginia Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Radford was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Simpson; sisters, Mary Sue Jarvis, and Madge York; and by a brother, Wayne Simmons.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, by Rev. Jake Penley.  Burial will follow in White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday beginning at 12:30.
