Betty Riggs

Mrs. Betty Felts Riggs, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, December 26, 2020, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Riggs was born March 12, 1937, in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late Dave McDaniel and Ruby Burchett Felts.  Betty retired from Spencer’s Inc. after 23 years of service and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.  She is survived by a brother-in-law, Monroe Riggs and his wife, Judith, of Cleveland; two sisters-in-law, Ann Riggs of Statesville and Dot Riggs of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Wain Riggs; and a daughter, Nancy Riggs.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Dr. Darrell Tate and the Rev. Dennis Bledsoe officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017; or Highland Park Baptist Church, 1327 Grove Lane, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
