Betty Norman Shaver met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County to Ronna and Ruby Medley Norman. Betty had a large extended family. She had numerous friends and church friends that she considered family. She was employed by the Yadkin County Schools at Forbush High School and she loved her school family. She also loved her church and was a faithful member of Anchored In Jesus Baptist Church. She also enjoyed being an active member of Eastern Star Yadkin Chapter ES 233. Her sweet smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. She had a big heart and was always willing to do anything for anyone. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Shaver; a brother, Scott Norman; and a brother-in-law, Clifton Shores. She is survived by a daughter, Amy Shaver of the home; a brother, Sam Norman (Nettie) of Mountain Park; three sisters, Maudaleen Shores of Mountain Park, Helen Coe (Raymond) of Dobson, and Katie White (Melvin) of Boonville; and a sister-in-law, Bertie Norman of Elkin. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Union Hill Baptist Church in Mountain Park on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. Larry Stone officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family wishes to thank all the staff for their kindness and care to Miss Betty. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
