Mrs. Betty Louise Stanley Simpson “Mammie,” age 91, of Dobson, North Carolina, was taken by the hand and entered into her heavenly home on April 1, 2024. Mrs. Simpson was born in Surry County on January 20, 1933, to the late Clifton and Hazel Stanley. Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Betty was loved by the many people who she came into contact with over her lifetime. Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jack Simpson, and granddaughter, Sherri Hudson. She is survived by numerous family members including: her daughter, Sandra Hudson (Ronald), and their son, Scott Hudson (Sarah), her son, Michael Simpson, and his children, Cody Simpson (Candice), Jackson Simpson, MacKinley Simpson, and Keyghun Simpson, and a beloved sister, Tommie Calhoun. Also left to cherish her loving memory will be her great grandchildren, Christopher Meeks, Mary Meeks, Leah Hudson, Kaden Hudson, Amelia Simpson, Wyatt Simpson, and several nieces and nephews. Special and beloved friends to Betty include: Lori Hawks, Cindy Wyatt, Iris Dobson, Usiel Rubio Vega, Andrea Chavez Rubio, Maria Rubio Abundis, Charlie Rubio Chavez, and Gadiel Rubio Chavez. The family would like to offer a sincere thank you to all the administration and staff at Central Continuing Care for their loving care of Mrs. Simpson while she was a resident. A private graveside service will be held at a later date with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mrs. Simpson’s memory to Salem Christian Academy at 430 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
