Betty Jean (Wood) Tobler

Mrs. Betty Jean Wood Tobler, age 77 of Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday morning, July 27, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Tobler was born April 9, 1946, in Surry County to the late Howard Bartley and Eliza Stanley Wood.  Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Surviving is her son, Michael Edward “Eddie” Tobler and girlfriend, Melissa O’Brien; two grandchildren, Preston Wallace Tobler, Hudson Edward Tobler; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Wood, Jeannie Tobler; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Dale Arrington.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tobler was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Edward Tobler; two sisters and brother-in-law, Rita Ann Wood, Mary Wood Willard and husband Arnie; three brothers, James Wood, Delmar Wood, L.V. “Woody” Wood; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Ethel Tobler, Ruby Tobler Easter and husband, Russell, Rachel Tobler; and a brother-in-law, Frank Tobler.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00PM.   The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Reverend Steve Johnson and Reverend Larry Stone officiating.  Interment will follow in the Westside Baptist Church Cemetery.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
