Beulah Faye Danley

Mrs. Beulah Faye Creed Danley, 92, of Mount Airy, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, April 10, 2021, at Central Continuing Care.  Mrs. Danley was born February 1, 1929, in Surry County, one of eight children born to the late Richard Zan and Minnie Alberta Smith Creed.  Faye was reared on a family farm in the White Plains community and attended White Plains School.  She married Herman Elzavan Danley on October 15, 1947.  During her early years of marriage, she and her husband raised tobacco.  With a passion for life, she faced each day with determination, thoughtfulness, and perseverance, particularly after Herman’s untimely death on June 28, 1975.  Her faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, gave her great strength as she walked through many of life’s trials.  Later in life, Faye worked as an inspector at Spencer’s Inc., retiring in August 1992, after 22 years of service.  Mrs. Danley always cooked Sunday lunch for her family until her health declined.  She loved gardening and canning and freezing homegrown fruits and vegetables.  She was a meticulous housekeeper and an organized extraordinaire.  Faye was a faithful member of Dover Baptist Church.  She is survived by her children, Larry and Shirley Danley, Janet and Robbie Johnson, and Susie Danley, all of Mount Airy, and Doug and Verona Danley of Thurmond; her grandchildren, Darrell and Mary Danley, Paul and Dr. DeAnne Danley, Mitzi and James Smith, Lucas and Mandi Danley, Brandon and Constance Danley, and the Rev. Chris and Jasmine Danley, all of Mount Airy; a stepgranddaughter and her husband, Valerie and Ricky Johnson of Dobson; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter Danley, Will Danley, Ethan Smith, Jaxson Danley, Logan Smith, Mae Danley, Isaiah Danley, JonLucas Danley, Sadie Danley, and Weston Danley, all of Mount Airy; three great-stepgrandchildren, Taran Beshers and her husband, Kurtis, of Rock Hill, SC, Maycee Anders of Mount Airy, and Adelina Johnson of Dobson; three great-great-stepgrandchildren, Oscar Beshers, Norah Beshers, and Jack Beshers, all of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters-in-law, Ila Mae Creed and Elaine Creed, both of Mount Airy; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Danley was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Danley; a sister and brother-in-law, Emmie Susan and Charlie Henry Crissman; and six brothers and three sisters-in-law, James Anderson Creed, Clayton Roscoe and Rosemary Storz Creed, Richard Alvin and Lorene Phillips Creed, Emmett Lee Creed, Elbert Franklin and Rosa Virginia Sexton Creed, and Coy Eugene Creed.  A service of worship and celebration of Faye’s life will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Family and friends may also pay their respects on Tuesday from 7:30 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.  At other times, the family welcomes friends to the home of Janet and Robbie Johnson at 175 Noonkester Drive, Mount Airy.  Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Yokefellow Co-Operative Ministry, 215 Jones School Road, Mount Airy, NC  27030.
