Mr. Bill Pershing Brannock, 84, of Mount Airy passed away November 14,2007 at the Central Continuing Care of Mt. Airy. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Dawson Brannock of almost 61 years, two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and
Carolyn Brannock, Larry and Donna Brannock, one daughter, Lisa Brannock Jones, 5 grandchildren, Kristen Brannock, Luke Brannock, Brandon Brannock, Nicholas Jones,Lee Brannock and his wife Sabrina, and one great grandchild, Sy William Brannock, son of Brandon and Ashley. Bill was a proud Veteran of WW II serving in the Philippines and a proud VFW member and Honor Guard of Post 2019 of Mt.Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. He was a retired foreman of Pike Electric of Mt. Airy working in underground cable for 20 years and spoke highly of his profession with pride. He was born one of 5 children on February 16, 1923 in Mt.Airy to Charles Roy and Nancy Ella Brannock, all deceased. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church of Cana, Virginia. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Buster Sechrist and Dr. David Brady. Burial will follow at the church cemetery following the service. His body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody's Funeral Home of Mt.Airy. Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care in lieu of flowers.
