Billie Nell Ayers McMillian

Mrs. Billie Nell Ayers McMillian, 75, of Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. McMillian was born January 16, 1937, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Ralph Connor Ayers, Sr. and Opal Smith Ayers. She was a member of Mount Bethel Moravian Church. Mrs. McMillian is survived by her husband, Bobby Olen McMillian of the home; a son, Keith McMillian of Cana, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom Hemmings of Dobson; a granddaughter, Kelly Hemmings of Dobson; a brother and sister-in-law, Connor and Brenda Ayers of Cana, VA; two nephews, Jeff Ayers and his wife, Fay, and Carlton Ayers; and a great nephew, Ethan Ayers. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 17, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Emmett Crotts officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Bonnie Ayers, 127 Mount Bethel Road, Cana, VA 24317. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their love and compassionate care.
