Mr. Billy Hassel Bailey, 70, of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Bailey was born in Iaeger, W. VA on August 5, 1941 to the late Calloway and Cosby Cline Bailey. He was a retired Coal Miner and was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his wife, Irene Faye Bailey of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Joe Taylor of Pilot Mountain, Misti and Darrell Young of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Roger and Kathy Bailey of Kernersville, Steve and Nellie Bailey of Mt. Airy; step daughter and husband, Crystal and Frankie Christie of Mooresville; step son and fiancé , Oble McLemore and Ella Christian of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Jessica and Brian Garner, Mary Beth Adkins, Ashley and Daniel Duggins, Kayla Bailey, Emily Young, Stephen Young, Allison Bailey; great grandson, Brody Garner; step grandchildren, Austin Jones, Franklin Christie, Jordan and Tish McLemore, Morgan and Dustin Loftin, Shawn and Codie Early; step great grandchildren, Khole Loftin, Emma and Kayla McLemore; step daughters, Rita and David Blankenship, Tammy and Kermit Bailey, Rosa and Murphy Jones; step grandchildren, Steven, Patrick, Leigh Ann and Billy; brother, Teddy Bailey of Taylorsville; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his second wife, Georgia Bailey; grandson, Cody Adam Bailey; sisters, Frankie Lester, Hazel Carter, Zephia Phillips, Gladys Collins, Anna Lee Bailey and Emma Jean Bailey; brothers, Elmer, Harold, Wetzel, Benny and Jimmy Joe Bailey. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Bailey, Rev. Ray Hutson and Mr. Jordon Grogan officiating. Burial will follow in The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
