Billy Wade Carter

Mr. Billy Wade Carter, 55, of Lambsburg, VA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2019, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Carter was born March 5, 1964, in Forsyth County, to Barbara Lee Murray Carter and the late Billy Edward Carter.  Wade was a service technician at Mount Airy Oil Company and a member of Faith Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife, April Gravely Carter; three daughters and a son-in-law, Haley Carter, Macy Carter, and Meagan and Jonathan Gardner; a son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Maggie Toney; four grandchildren, Jasper, Carson, Kannon, and Tripp; his mother, Barbara Lee Murray Carter; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandy and the Rev. Randy Edwards and Brenda Creed; a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Melissa Carter; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Elaine Bowman; his maternal grandmother, Hattie Gammons; and his paternal grandparents, Edward Arlo and Savannah Elizabeth Carter.  The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Edwards and the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Carter Family, 264 Richards Lane, Lambsburg, VA  24351, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
