Billy Gray Bowman

Mr. Billy Gray Bowman, age 91, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born on September 5, 1932 in Surry County to the late Mary Bowman. Proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Lynn Bowman Chandler; sons and daughter-in-law, Perry Bowman (Renee), Will Bowman; grandchildren, Staci Jessup (Dale), Matt Mills, Travis Bowman, Brett Bowman (Sasha); great-grandchildren, Taylor Mills, Alyssa Jessup, Chandler Mills; one on the way, Jodie Ann Bowman; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra Monday Hamlin (Cleve); as well as many special friends.  In addition to his parents Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his wife Dorothia Perry Bowman; grandchild, Justin Bowman; brother, Bobby Lee Monday.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Grace Moravian Church with service conducted by Rev. Andrew Heil, and Rev. Charles Fishel.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the church.  Burial will follow in God’s Acre. Friends who wish to bring food or visit may go to the home of Sandra Hamlin. Flowers will be accepted or a memorial donation may be made to Grace Moravian Church of Mt. Airy in Honor of Mr. Bowman.
