Billy Ray Hicks

Mr. Billy Ray Hicks, 77, of Pinnacle, passed away Tuesday morning, November 3, 2020, at his home.  Mr. Hicks was born August 13, 1943, in Surry County, to the late Vester and Ollie Belle Hiatt Hicks.  Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Norma Jean Creed Hicks; two daughters, Pamela Hicks and Kimberly Jessup; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael Hicks, Daryl and Yolanda Hicks, B.J. and Penny Hicks, and Randall Hicks; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, his dog, Brody.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Hicks; a sister, Roberta Bowman; and three brothers, Ronnie Hicks, Lewis Hicks, and Wade Hicks.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Little Mountain Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Watson officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brenner Children’s Hospital by visiting online at www.brennerchildrens.org.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
