Billy Joe "B.J." Lawson

Mr. Billy Joe "B.J." Lawson, 28, of Lowgap, passed away Friday morning, February 13, 2009, at his home. Mr. Lawson was born August 14, 1980, in Surry County, to Margo Lawson and the late Steven Douglas Lawson. He was employed with Applied Polymerics. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Margo Barker Hamlin and Randall Hamlin of Lowgap; his maternal grandmother, Lucille Barker of Lowgap; his fiancee, Sandi Hooks of Lowgap; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, H.W. Barker; and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Launith Vernon Lawson. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 16, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church, with the Elder Woody Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to assist the family in the funeral expenses.
