Mr. Billy Wade Mabe, 65, of 124 Lynnewood Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010, at his home. Mr. Mabe was born June 22, 1944, in Forsyth County, to the late Ervin Jackson and Hessie Calhoun Mabe. He worked in the textile business most of his life and was a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Willard Mabe of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Dean Thomas of Mount Airy; three sons, Mitchell Wayne Mabe, Michael Wade Mabe, and Mickey Lee Mabe, all of Mount Airy; a stepson, Bobby Lee Easter of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; Alene Easter, the mother of his children; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joann and Allen Walton and Betty and Polo Guttereus, all of Kernersville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Nancy Mabe of Kernersville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mabe was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lee Mabe and Diane Cook; and a great-grandchild, Keleaigh Sawyers. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 9, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Jerry Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.
