Billy Bryan Newman

Mr. Billy Bryan Newman, 58, of 302 Gray Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at his home. Mr. Newman was born December 20, 1951, in Sacramento, CA, to JoAnn Davis Newman and the late Walter Bobby Newman. He was the manager at Brintle's Truck Stop. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher Bryan and Linda Newman of Yadkinville and Matthew Robert Newman of Winston-Salem; his mother, JoAnn Davis Newman of the home; four grandchildren, Isabella Nichole Newman, Aaliyah Danielle Hawks, Joseph Michael Newman, and Sarih Hope Newman; two stepsons, Clay Norman of Charleston, SC, and Matthew Norman of Mechanicsville, VA; a sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie Jo and Tommy Thornburg of Mount Airy; brother and sister-in-law, James and Donna Newman of Mount Airy; a special niece, Wendy Surratt of Mount Airy; and a special uncle and his wife, Leon and Vivian Davis of Charleston, SC. In addition to his father, Mr. Newman was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Jean Newman and Linda Marie Newman; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Mikel Newman and Donnie and Tammy Newman. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 19, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Baptist Church, with the Rev. Butch Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 PM until time for the service at the church.
