Billy Joe "Bill" Penley

Billy “Bill” Joe Penley, 65 of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, at his home. Mr. Penley was born February 1, 1956, to the late William and Arbiazenna Bryan Penley. He was preceded in death by both his parents, one sister and three brothers. He is survived by his daughters Michelle (Sam) Brown and Karen (Jim) Kenyon, his son Andrew Hudson, five grandchildren, Hunter Kenyon, Madison Kenyon, Caleb Kenyon, Katelyn Brown, and Rion Hudson; one great-grandchild, Isaac Howell; eight sisters, three brothers, along with several nieces and nephews. Anyone who knew Bill Penley knew him as a crazy, outgoing, friendly man who never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone who walked by and made everyone’s day a little brighter. This world will be a little dimmer without him in it. His love for his family knew no bounds. We could not have asked for a better father, grandfather, brother, or friend. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Billings officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Church Cemetery in Ararat, North Carolina. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services, Inc. is serving the family.
